FAQ

  • I have scheduled my first therapeutic massage with TouchPower. What will happen at my first visit?
Before Your Session When you arrive at my office, you will complete a client history form. We will review the information on your form together and discuss your present and past activities, injuries, and surgeries. I will ask you to perform simple activities like turning your head to identify restrictions in joint movement. The Session I will deliver the massage, During the massage, I will check in with you to ensure that the pressure applied is within your comfort zone and adjust the pressure as needed. I may slowly and gently move your arms, legs, and neck to place them in the best position for massage. I may also ask you to perform movements of your arms, legs, or neck to facilitate relaxation of muscles and release of restrictions. At the End of the Session I will bring you a glass of water and ask you how you are feeling. I will ask you to repeat the range of motion activities that you performed before the massage (if any) to assess improvement. I will review your daily activities and suggest modifications and stretches to help you sustain the impacts of your massage.
  • How is therapeutic massage at TouchPower different from other providers.
During therapeutic massage sessions at TouchPower you will be a partner with your practitioner. You will be communicating to the practitioner about your comfort level. You may be asked to move areas of your body. Depending on the issues you want addressed, you may not receive a whole-body massage. There may be discomfort during the session. Afterwards, clients report feeling more flexibility and function as well as relaxation.
