Accelerated Recovery Therapy (ART)

Are you recovering from orthopedic surgery or injury? Accelerated Recovery Therapy specifically targets scar tissue that is naturally produced after surgery or injury.  A range of manual therapy techniques is used to facilitate your body's management of this scar tissue, reducing restricting tissue to maximize joint range of motion. ART can begin as soon as two weeks after surgery or when you begin out-patient physical therapy. We begin with 2 sessions per week.  The number of sessions is tailored to each client and reflects the amount of scar tissue present as well as how soon after surgery or injury this work begins.

One 1/2-hour  session per week:

$50

More than 1 session per week:

$40

In Swedish Massage, a variety of strokes are applied with the hands to broad areas of soft tissue. Swedish massage can be superficial or deep, depending on the degree of pressure applied.

In Deep Tissue Massage, the therapist uses the elbow, thumb, reinforced fingers, or forearm to apply deep pressure in specific areas of tight muscle. The pressure is applied to the client’s tolerance level NOT PAST IT.

Trigger Point Massage is even more focused than deep tissue massage. Trigger points are very small (less than ½”) areas of tightness in muscle tissue. I use my thumb or fingers to apply deep pressure on the trigger points to release them.
